Tricky part is getting the baskets. I thought of getting a sponsor but then they would want their logo all over things which isn't cool at the MAN. Anyone out there know any D.Golfers who have connections to baskets??

Tue, September 13, 2005 - 10:49 AMI bought a pop-up basket. 2 pieces. Folds into a slim carrying bag, kinda like all the camping chairs you see. $100 bucks. I'll bring a couple to B-man next year. You really only need 6-9 baskets to lay out a totally bitchen course. -

If we just get a bunch of Discgolfer/burners to bring their baskets we should be able to get at least nine together. and the putting carnie stand idea is Great! we could even set up a miniature golf type coarse with fun props to shoot into/at/onto/over... you get the idea.
get the word out so we can actually make this happen. I know of one full size metal basket I can borrow for the week.

I dunno about a night time unless it was taped off so innocents dont get hurt (golfers can read their own tickets) What about plastic trees or sculpters for obsticales? I will be welding by then if someone has metal and chain to donate. Sounds like a bad idea , you can count me IN! -

It seems to me you would want to *create* some interesting baskets rather than buy/bring some traditional baskets. Seems more in the theme of the Man. just my .02 cents. -

I've tossed some Innovas in BRC. In the end, there's not that much that I find interesting about disc golf on the playa. It's flat, no trees, no hikes. Kind of boring. For me, I mean.

Wed, September 20, 2006 - 8:58 PMI agree. In "Ultimate Golf" you always use a lid, throw from a pivot foot, and use a creative assortment of targets rather than just baskets.

Tue, August 29, 2006 - 12:05 AMthis isnt mucjh help for this year but next year me and a friend are gonna be comig and i have a mach style basket i would be willing to bring to help set up a course as far as no trees and flat land you can make it totally fun in haford cali there is a course that has trees but they have a hole that has none at all and its a medium length par 3 so im thinking we could do long par 3 or possibly some par 4s just make em long like between 6 and 1000 feet that would make it interesting also if you guys want some tips on lighting baskets we also used to do night golf and i found that the standard glowstics work really well if you put 2 or 3 in the basket hanging from the top down into the center and for the discs use the mini glowsticks that people put in thier mouths and attach them with crystal clear packing tape to the top of the disc it doesnt affect the flight and you can still see them fairly well just dont use a anything but a candy plastic cuz if they land upside down you will never find them good luck to all and be safe getting up there and play a few rounds for me.
